From Panguitch, travel south on State Road # 143 to Panguitch Lake. At Panguitch take North Shore Road, FR #080 to Horse Valley Road, FR #076. Travel northerly on #076 to Horse Valley. In approximately 1/4 mile a gate, which parallels a fence east of the road, will be reached. The trailhead is through the gate at an elevation of 9,400 feet.
DESCRIPTION:
The trail starts by climbing up a small drainage of mixed conifer and aspen, goes over a hill and into Left Fork Haycock Creek, a grassy drainage with riparian vegetation. The trail crosses Haycock Creek and down to the old administration site in Little Valley Trail goes through 16me of the best elk habitat on the Cedar City Ranger District. The administration site is a large grass meadow surrounded with aspen. The trail leaves the administration site working its way up a rock drainage before climbing over a hill and into Caddy Creek, FR #396. Trail ends at road.
